The unit has a graphical LCD with 240x64 pixel resolution which is capable of displaying 8 lines of characters, 40 per line using built-in fonts. It can also display graphs, charts, inverted characters, bitmaps etc. It also has a 16-key keypad with programmable keys. The LCD and keypad interface to the CPU board through an internal RS232 port (a LabVIEW driver is provided) .
Although the unit has not been tested with all National Instruments data acquisition boards, it should support half-size PCI boards that are compatible with LabVIEW RT. Please note that SBC's with fast CPU's have CPU cooling fans, which limits the available expansion space to only one PCI board.
In addition to the connectors on data acquisition boards, the following connectors are accessible on the back panel: RS232, Ethernet, VGA, keyboard. Access to the floppy drive interface is available by unscrewing the top panel of the unit (a floppy drive, a keyboard and a VGA monitor may be required for configuring the unit in case when MAX cannot be used).
Unit dimensions: 305 x 120 x 250 mm.
The pricing has not been set yet, but our target price for the basic configuration is under US$2500. This price does not include any data acquisition boards or LabVIEW RT run-time license.
