SI-LVRT-104 is built around a PC/104 form-factor single board 486-class computer and a PC/104 multifunction data acquisition board (PC/104 uses the ISA bus). It is a low-power, compact unit with passive cooling. It has 128 MB of RAM and an IDE CompactFlash storage (various capacity available). It has no moving parts whatsoever.

The alpha-numerical LCD is capable of displaying 2 lines, 20 characters per line. It also has a 7-key keypad with programmable keys. The LCD and keypad interface to the CPU board through an internal RS232 port (a LabVIEW driver is provided).

The PCI/104 core (the CPU board, the DAQ board and the IDE CompactFlash storage) is available separately for developers who would like to include this core into a larger system of their own or into their own case.

Two choices are available for the multifunction data acquisition board (LabVIEW RT drivers are provided for both of them).

The standard, 12-bit DAQ board has the following characteristics:

The other choice - a 16-bit DAQ board - is coming soon.

Terminals: removable terminal blocks, 0.1 inch pitch, located on the back panel. All connectors are chosen so as to prevent the user from accidentally inserting any removable terminal into a wrong connector. Other connectors on the back panel: RS232, Ethernet. The following connectors are accessible "under the hood": VGA, floppy drive interface and keyboard (required for setting up the unit in case when MAX cannot be used).

A 150 x 35 mm breadboard area is available on the printed circuit board inside the unit for custom user circuitry. A separate 8-pin connector for this purpose is also provided. +5V and +12V power is available both internally and externally (through a dedicated) connector for user purposes. Optionally, -12V power is available internally too. Additional voltages can be provided by the user through the 8-pin connector.

Unit dimensions: 155 x 55 x 285 mm.

The pricing has not been set yet, but our target price for the basic configuration (including the standard DAQ board) is under US$2000. This price does not include a LabVIEW RT run-time license.
